Walk-up Culture
2026Must everything be “quaint”, “charming”? The question lingers before any image can resolve it. Spaces are filled with ornament; usage without apology. Rusted sinks, candelabras, trinkets accumulated or, maybe, curated. Surfaces heavy from use that becomes its own form of decoration. Shelby moves through the rooms as an extension of the spaces’ excess, seated atop fixtures worn past their intended elegance.
This is walk-up culture caught in its own contradiction: styling and design undeniably accentuating what time has left behind. To hold space for both, treading the line between lived-in and the performed, unquestioned and unresolved.
